On November 8, 2024, at a panel discussion on the topic “Government support and international cooperation in textile exports,” Gesamtmasche director Silvia Jungbauer made an official speech.

Within the framework of the international exhibition Heimtextil Tashkent – 2024, held from November 6 to 8, the head of the GUZ Partners Gesamtmasche project, Malika Akramova, made a presentation on the topic “Requirements of the European market, product certification, preparation for negotiations with buyers.”

5.11.2024 was held online seminar organized jointly with IHK Stuttgart and GUZ Partners on the project “Partnering in Business with Germany”.

In the Fergana city, together with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH, the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ), as well as the Gesamtmasche association, was held a seminar on the issues of successfully entering the textile market of the European Union using the system EU GSP+ preferences.

On March 3-7, 2024, the Uztextileprom Association and Gesamtamsche are organizing a large-scale visit to Germany of employees of the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction, the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry, the Namangan Textile Institute, Fergana University, and the Margilan Vocational School within the framework of the GUZ Partners project.

In the frame of GUZ-Partners project represetatives of Albstadt University signed documents with Tashkent and Namangan Universities.

In Uzbekistan, the region’s fully integrated textile value chain and growing consumer market offer a wide range of opportunities for new business relationships. The German Pavilion at the UzTextile Expo in Tashkent from 28 to 30 May 2024 is an excellent opportunity for German companies in the textile industry to establish contacts with customers, suppliers, sales and production partners.

On behalf of Gesamtmasche and the GIZ project “Sustainability and Value Added in the Cotton Economy in Uzbekistan”, first meeting was organized of CEO Circle on Sustainability and Export Promotion in the Textile Sector in Uzbekistan.

Frankfurt-based trade fair company Messe Frankfurt is expanding its presence in the Central Asian market and is launching seven events from its portfolio in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Representatives of UZTEXTILEPROM, GESAMTMASCHE and Hochschule University Albstadt-Sigmaringen jointly organized a workshop for industry representatives at enterprisess om the Fergana amd Narmangan regions, Teamdress and Fazman.

A delegation from Albstadt-Sigmaringen University, a German higher education institute famous for its textile curricula, visited Uzbekistan in order to discuss bilateral cooperation in education. The first 10 Uzbek students could come to Albstadt for textile studies already as of the winter semester 2024/25.

At the UzTextile Expo Spring exhibition in Tashkent from May 28 to 30, 2024, on the initiative of Gesamtmasche, the German pavilion will again operate, followed by a trip to Narmangan.

Textile and apparel companies interested in Uzbekistan should mark their calendars today for the period from May 28 to June 1, 2024.

In 2023, textile enterprises exported products under 27 international brands.
By the end of the year, $1.2 billion worth of textile products had been exported to brands.

On September 8-10, 2024, Samarkand will host the Joint Conference of two major international textile federations of the world – Annual Conference ITMF and IAF Fashion Convention.

Representatives met in Fergana, Uzbekistan. Several meetings were held to reach agreement on cooperation between our institutions.

During the meeting , it was agreed to organize training courses for technologists based on the “TOT Strategy” project. According to the discussion, 9 specialists will be trained in three directions, and they will organize short-term courses for technologists in the field of institutes and enterprises in the future.

On 29 August, 2023 Uzbek delegation arrived to Albstadt to visit companies tour.

Uzbek textile enterprises visited Mayer & Cie, one of the next largest companies in Germany, as part of the Days of the textile industry of Uzbekistan.

Mayer & Cie is the world’s leading manufacturer of knitting machines. Their machines are used in the production of knitted fabrics for a variety of clothing, home textiles and technical textiles.

The company has been operating since 1905, adhering to traditions.

According to the results of the visit, the leaders of the Uzbek cotton-textile cluster reached an agreement on the supply of knitting machines.

On August 29, 2023, second part of the day the Uzbek delegation in Germany visited Hochschule Albstadt University.

On August 28, Stuttgart, Germany hosted the first day of “Textile Days of Uzbekistan” in Germany.

Uzbekistan is rapidly becoming the textile centre of Central Asia. The country is not only interesting as a production and sourcing location, but also as a gateway to new markets.

BCI confirms the launch of a Better Cotton Programme in #Uzbekistan. “As the sixth largest cotton producer globally, this programme brings us one step closer to our vision of a world where #sustainablecotton is the norm. 

Uzbekistan’s President signed a decree on additional measures to support export activities of business entities. Regarding exports to Europe, 70% of transportation costs will be covered by the governement for one year.

From 24 to 26 May 2023, Central Asia’s leading textile fair “UzTextile Expo Spring 2023” will take place in Tashkent. On the initiative of Gesamtmasche, there is a German Pavilion for German exhibitors for the first time.

On August 2, 2022, UZTEKSTILPROM became a member of the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) based in Washington. The PSAC is part of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC).

On the professional Belgian Internet platform of the fashion industry “Fashionunited” an article about the potential of Uzbekistan in the textile sector is published.

On July 18, 2022, a video conference was held between representatives of the International Better Work Program, the International Labor Organization, the International Finance Corporation and the Employers’ Association of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan is experiencing a textile boom. Thanks to the support of the government and the efforts of entrepreneurs, the textile industry of Uzbekistan has become an advanced industry. It is worth noting that the development of the industry is under the close attention of the international community. According to experts, Uzbekistan is considered one of the new regional textile centers.

At the Round Table Uzbekistan on May 6, 2022, interested textile and clothing companies were able to inform themselves about the business opportunities in Uzbekistan.

UzTextileExpo ist the leading international exhibition of textile and fashion industry in Uzbekistan.

On 26th April 2022, one of the largest events in the industry – the 4th International Textile Conference “Uzbekistan Textile Conference” (UTC) – will be held. The theme of the Conference: “Sustainability and “Better work” in the textile industry”.

In the first two months of 2022, Uzbekistan exported to 15 foreign countries about 8,000 tons of knitwear worth $45.6 million.The volume of exports of knitted products increased by 8.4 million US dollars compared to the corresponding period of last year.

Better Cotton Initiatives (BCI) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to improving cotton growing practices, including reducing the impact of cotton growing on the environment and people.

Finally, the US Cotton Campaign stops its boycott call. The ILO and the EU had long since certified Uzbekistan that the cotton harvest is fair.

Uzbekistan has succeeded in eradicating forced and child labour during the 2021 cotton production cycle, according to new ILO findings.

“In times of disrupted supply chains, excessive raw material prices and increasing sustainability requirements, it is high time to reorient ourselves,” says Martina Bandte, President of Gesamtmasche. “Uzbekistan can play an important role for us in the coming years.”

Still little noticed by Europe’s textile industry, Uzbekistan is experiencing a small revolution. Production is modern, and child and forced labour in the cotton fields has disappeared.

Uzbek goods can now be imported into the EU duty-free. Only developing countries with high environmental and social standards qualify for the special preferences.

Traditionally known as one of the leading cotton exporters, Uzbekistan has long been more than a supplier of raw materials: in total, there are around 7,500 textile and clothing companies of various sizes.
